Leonaspis
LEONASPIS Leonaspis has a wide head, drawn out to the side and rear
into exceptionally stout genal spines, and with small, slightly
elevated eyes. The ten thoracic segments have wide pleurae, extending
into robust spines, and straight pleural furrows. The tail shield is
also very spiny. Habitat: A bottom-dweller, this genus used its spines
for protection. Remark: This type of trilobite had a long stratigraphic
range.
