Mucrospirifer

The shell of this relatively large spiriferid reachs its maximum width along the hinge line, which is extended outwardforming sharp points. The brachial valve has a pronounced fold, with a correspomding depression on the pedicle valve. The apex area (umbo) of the pedicle valve contains a small hole for the pedicle. HABITAT Mucrospirifer lived in soft, muddy substrates. .
