Heliophyllum

A solitary, sometimes colonial, coral, with open branched or ajoined corallites. The calice is shallow with long septa, sometimes reaching the center of the corallite. Dissepiments are numerous, small, well-rounded, and confined to the outer zone of corallite. The central zone is occupied by flat or slightly curved tabulae. Tha external walls are thin with fine growth ridges. Heliophyllum inhabited shallow water. .
