OGYGOPSIS
The exoskeleton is more compact and broad, of the isopygous type (the pygidium is alomost identical in size to the cephalon). The cephalon, which possesses two very pronounced, retroflex genal spines, displays a prominent glabella, lacking furrows and extending as far as the anterior margin: the eyes are of medium size and situated roughly halfway along the glabella. The thorax is composed of eight segments, with broad pleurae that have no spines at their extremities. The pygidium is well developed, with a multi-segmented axis streaching as far as the posterior edge; the lateral portions of the pygidium are crossed transversally by pleural furrows; its edge, posteriorly rounded is generally entire and spineless.
