Pleurocystites
This fossilized cystoid has a flattened, triangular-shaped theca and is broadest at the posterior margin, tapering anteriorly. The stem consists of many short ridged columnals. The mosaic covering of small plates on the undersurface is uppermost.
HABITAT This genus lived with the undersurface lying on the sediment, and with its stem coiled around any suitable attachment.
