Constellaria-Sea mat
Constellaria
These bryozoans developed as a bushy colony with thick, often compressed, branches. The branch surfaces are covered by distinctive star-shaped monticules (regularly shaped hummocks). Feeding zooids are located along the rays of the stars. The monticules of colonies probably formed chimneys for the expulsion of exhalant feeding currents.
Habitat -- Constellaria lived on the sea bed.
